Pictures and a Quick Update...

Sorry it's taken me so long to get some new pictures up, life has been hectic with the holidays and preparing for the baby! This year we were lucky enough to have both our parents and Jason's sister and boyfriend spend Christmas at our house. It was a lot of work to get everything ready, but we had a great time and enjoyed spending time with our families. Jason has been really busy with work and I've been busy finishing up the nursery and getting things ready for Baby Zook. The nursery is done, all his clothes are washed and put away, and my hospital bag is packed! I am just about 36 weeks now and I am hoping that once 37 weeks rolls around this baby will come. My feet are still huge and I've developed pretty bad carpal tunnel in my hands that keeps me awake in pain all night. I can no longer push through my tiredness to get things done, and so now I am really just trying to take it easy and relax. I really do love being pregnant but I guess my body doesn't like it so much :)

So here are some pictures from our baby shower hosted by my parents and some new belly pics. I apologize ahead of time for the double chin and fat arms...apparently they are pregnant too :)

Big, Fat...

CANKLES!!! Yes, I am 32 weeks tomorrow and I have the biggest, most swollen feet and ankles you have ever seen. Someone forgot to give my body the memo that I am supposed to get swollen cankles at the end of my pregnancy. And my toes look like mini sausages. Very attractive visual, right? Thank goodness my wonderful hubby took me shoe shopping this past weekend because none of my shoes/boots fit my feet anymore. So there it is, my swollen life in a nutshell. I had my 32 week appointment this morning, and baby is growing right on track. I only gained a mere 6 pounds in the past 4 weeks which is a vast improvement from the 4 weeks before. I now will see the doctor every 2 weeks and then once I hit 36 weeks I'll go every week to see her. I am still uncomfortable most of the time but overall I feel pretty good. Baby Z is still kicking and rolling away, and he still loves to play with daddy from the inside. Jason thinks it's the neatest thing when he talks to the belly and the baby kicks back :)

This weekend we will be driving up to Chicago for our baby shower that my parents are throwing for us. We are so excited to see all of my family and friends! I promise to post pictures after the shower, and if you're lucky I might show you a lovely photo of my sausage feet :) Bye!

Third Trimester!

Hello again! Well, I am officially 2 weeks into my third trimester. I can't believe it! I have been feeling pretty good overall and as my doctor stated, I'm "cruising through this pregnancy!" I am starting to get a little tired again, and the baby is still dancing on my poor bladder :) And BOO for heartburn, it really is getting to be a nuisance! But I am loving being pregnant and can really start to notice my belly change. It still kind of looks the same to me, but I know it's gotten bigger in the past 4 weeks. The little peanut is moving around all the time and I love every minute of his kicks! He gets the hiccups sometimes at night, which makes me laugh, and he has woken me up from my sleep a couple times with his fancy footwork. It really is amazing to feel him move around, and I feel like he has such a distinct personality already. He LOVES to move around when I'm sitting at the computer, and becomes really active between 9 and 11 a.m. every Thursday morning. Yes, you all read that correctly, and let me explain. Usually he is quiet and sleeping (I assume) during the morning hours. However, I am involved with a bible study group on Thursdays and every single class he spends those two hours kicking and rolling all around! He already loves Jesus, and boy does he let me know it! And he already likes to eat a lot just like his daddy. Anyone who knows Jason knows he can put food away like it's nobody's business. And, because I am carrying his hungry little babe, I have to eat ALL the time! Seriously, I cannot stop eating. If there is food around, you will find me there. I eat, and then an hour later I'm looking around for food again. None of my other friends who've had babies admitted to being this hungry, so I am chalking it up to having a baby who just takes after his hungry daddy.
In other baby news, Grandma Cindy threw us a "virtual baby shower" this past Sunday! Since we couldn't travel to North Carolina, she invited all her friends to her house and we both had our web cams on to participate in the fun! As the guests arrived, we got to say hello and mingle with them via our web cam. The best part of the shower was seeing Grandma Zook's reaction to opening all of the cute baby gifts! Jackson got so many beautiful clothes and gifts...he is one blessed baby for sure. And my parents are throwing us a shower in December and our wonderful Kentucky friends will be hosting a couple's shower here for us in January. Let me just say, we are beyond grateful to have our family and friends share in our excitement. This little boy is already so loved, and I personally feel he is the luckiest baby in the world to have so much love around him!

Sneak Peak...

Hello family and friends! I've finally gotten around to starting a new blog to document this pregnancy, and I do apologize for it taking me so long! What can I say....hmmm...this pregnancy has been wonderful so far. It started off with pretty bad morning sickness that would not seem to let up, but once I hit 13 weeks I had started to feel much better. I also spent those 13 weeks napping all day long because I was exhausted beyond belief. Once I hit the second trimester, however, I regained some of my energy and was looking forward to having my big ol' baby belly.

So now I'm almost 26 weeks and lets just say I am feeling tired again and humongous! I feel like I am all belly and look like I am going to birth this child any day now. Seriously. I am also having the worst round ligament pain imaginable, which is beginning to make it painful and difficult to walk even the shortest of distances. For those of you who don't know what ligament pain is, it is basically the stretching of your muscles as the baby grows and moves. I think this boy is trying to escape via my lower abdomen, or is trying to kick his way out through my poor bladder. But other than that I can't complain at all and we feel so blessed to have gotten this far with a healthy and strong baby.

Without further ado, here are some belly pictures of me along the way and also a couple 3D pics of our little man. We have chosen the name Jackson David. The Christian meaning of Jackson is "God's gracious gift," and that is exactly what he is to us. David is his daddy's middle name and Grandpa Zook's first name. He is already loved by so many people and we can't wait to hold him in our arms! Enjoy!
